轨课五 ： Notes on Wanderland

好难, this has got to be the most difficult homework thus far. simply because i have to confront my stubborn and stingy character head on. haha..

Dilemma #1: when being presented with 2 objects made with equal levels of TLC (tender loving care), it's difficult to not want to have the best of both worlds


Dilemma #2: same same but different is a big problem, in practice, especially when the 2 objects are neither that similar nor that different, how do I marry the two?

(but at the same time, the realization, that this dilemma arises because of the ME-ness in the 2 objects, is sweet :))


Dilemma #3: having to make sense out of it all. haha.. that took quite a while and a lot more imagination


actually, as i re-read Wanderland, it kind of make sense but at the same time it doesn't.

the reason why i decide to keep Wanderland as it is, for the time being at least, is that this ambiguity makes me feel good.

轨课五 : 联婚的契机 : Wanderland

in the beginning, there was a tree
and it was from this tree
that the black bunnies grew



the black bunnies were happy



and soon evolved into bunnies of various shapes and sizes

the bunnies had nothing to worry about, for the great old tree would take care of everything



contented with their lives,
the bunnies learned to stop thinking,
about what laid beyond the great old tree

the tree was all they had
the tree was all they cared

only the bravest bunny would wander off
but not all who wander was lost

功课四 : The Uncurious Case of The Black Bunnies

Once upon a time, in a familiar place not so faraway, there lived a Little Black Bunny. Little Black Bunny was very lonely and so it decided to go out and play.

Little Black Bunny came to a place where the sky was blue and the clouds were white. Little Black Bunny was very excited.

"Will you play with me?" asked
Little Black Bunny.

"NO! NO! NEVER!"
came the response sharp and prompt.
"You are too happy and you will make us look sad!"

"Happiness is a crime," mumbled Little Black Bunny under its breath. "I must remember that." With that, Little Black Bunny hopped away, feeling very sad.

"Will you play with me?"

asked Little Black Bunny with its head hanging low.

"NO! NO! NEVER!"
came the response sharp and prompt.
"You are too sad and you will make us sad too!"

"NO! NO! NEVER!"
came the response sharp and prompt.
"You are too dark.
Your darkness will kill all the trees!"

"NO! NO! NEVER!"

came the response sharp and prompt.
"You don't belong here!"

"NO! NO! NEVER!"
came the response sharp and prompt.
"There is not enough carrots for you here!"

And so, Little Black Bunny decided to leave. It hopped and it hopped and it hopped. Finally, Little Black Bunny came to a place all dusty and grey.

"Will you play with me," asked Little Black Bunny.

Little Black Bunny waited
and waited
and waited
but there was no response.

Suddenly, Little Black Bunny heard a loud thunderous roar. The ground shook under its feet. Little Black Bunny was very scared. It jumped straight into the arms of the Black Bunny.

Meanwhile, back in the familiar place not so faraway, dozens of black bunnies flooded the town, the forest and even the place where the sky was blue and the clouds were white.

Away from all that chaos, Little Black Bunny laid in its new found home and soon fell into a deep sleep.

Sometimes, when the moon is high and round, you might just be able to spot Little Black Bunny sleeping soundly amidst millions and millions of other Little Black Bunnies.

制作过程与自我发现：

• 发现: there’s always not enough time in the creative process
• 发现: there’s always the obsessive compulsive me lurking somewhere in the creative process
• 发现: how the mind can seemingly focus on one thing but yet at the same time open to spontaneity
• 发现: focus is just a starting point but without this focus, there probably won’t be a starting point
• 发现: the creative process doesn’t provide any room for procrastination
• 发现: 虚比实更容易掌控
• 发现: to reaffirm the self, one needs to get one’s hands dirty
• 发现: indulgence is one way to stay focus
• 发现: the joy and satisfaction of creating something for the self

功课一 : 小故事 : Constant Constipation :(

小故事还是没有 structure, characters and plot. just a few randomly floating thoughts..

it started with me being captivated by an atas old school suitcase with a mirror in it. (come to think of it, who would go travel with a suitcase that has got an attached mirror? haha..) that was when i decided that i WANT a mirror in my suitcase! oh, did i forget to mention that my suitcase has to be the old school kind too? :P

then it went a little wilder. maybe i can have changable backdrops in my suitcase too.

then it all fall into place. it's a travel theatre, a theatre that travels, with all my phantasies contained in a Doraemon-ish suitcase.

but still, no structure, no characters and no plot.

though i kept thinking about dancing in front of the mirror.. different dances, different ages but all in front of that mirror, in a place where i would call 孤獨 Happy Bus :)
